While looking into research styles I came across the fact that parents to be and other people that's an interest in baby names are divided into to major groups. Nothing special concerning the fact that people goes to different groups but this 1 shows a development that has been gaining strength going back 5-10 years.

We've the parents which are trying to find words like top 100 baby names, top five baby names on one side, common baby names etc. Many of these terms have commonly that the visitor is trying to find what everyone else is naming their child.

Now dont get me wrong... There is nothing at all wrong with wanting to call your child a popular name. There can many known reasons for wanting to name your baby boy or baby girl exactly the same name as most other children. A reason might be you want the child to be socially recognized when he/she grows up and begins playing with other children.

Another reason would be that it might be easier for the baby to get called in for a job interview and maybe even get the job. It may be a convention in the family to name the name to the babies that ranks number 1 in the previous year.

There might be plenty of reasons for calling an infant after the most the children born in that period of time. This is not my attention that was got by the part.

What got my attention was that on the other side there is an identical large band of parents that is trying to find the exact opposite. They are searching for words like strange baby names, odd baby names, unique baby names an such like.

Again the reasons for seeking a silly baby name can be many and I can only guess what they may be but from what is happening in society I think that a few of the most evident reasons are these:

You want to show the outside world that the baby is some thing special. By providing your youngster a name that only a few people carry then you definitely have made them special. They now have a that will (probably) be easier for others to remember due to the fact that they havent heard the name before.

An additional reason may be that it has become a trend to name you son or daughter a unique name. Over time this trend has been growing and like with the common name a special name can now apply status as well.

No one knows why people are split into these groups. There's naturally still the 3rd category left and that are those searching for natural baby names.
