Rin Tin Tin was Hollywoods first recognizable canine star. The German Shepherd was presented in 26 films for Warner Brothers Pictures and is normally credited with having saved the business from bankruptcy throughout the silent film era. Lassie

Ask someone to name a famous dog and you will probably get the name Lassie everytime. The star of several shows, several television series, and the subject of countless books, Lassie has become the most recognizable canine star in American TELEVISION and film history. Apparently, every one of the dogs to portray Lassie through the years have been male. The original collie to depict Lassie was really called Lad and was the star of the wonderful original tv series along with many films, most memorably the original edition of Lassie Come Home.

Benji

In the 1970s a filmmaker named Joe Camp started selling your dog movie around Hollywood. He was told repeatedly that the film could not work, so he decided to produce the film alone. because no distribution business would release the film after the film covered Camp had new troubles. Again, Camp relied upon himself to deliver his family video worldwide. Camps gamble paid and Benji, starring an adorable mixed breed dog that was adopted from an animal shelter (the first Benji was the dog Higgins who'd done the TV show Petticoat Junction) became exremely popular. Through the years there have been five Benji films, television programs and specials, comics, and a huge amount of Benji merchandise. oticas
