Bass drum slip does NOT reference the scary guy with the bass drum, its the word used to describe the irritating situation when your kick drum starts moving further and further far from you with each stroke of your bass drum pedal.

Setting up your equipment on a good thick carpet or a rug that the spikes at the end of your bass drum legs can sink their teeth in to will usually help in keeping bass drum slip at bay. (If your bass drum feet don't have spikes, replace them with ones that. Any reasonable drum store will take alternative bass drum legs at a reasonable price.)

Make sure your carpet is large enough to suit your whole equipment, as well as your throne. The weight of your body on the throne can help hold the bass drum from moving away with the complete carpet.

Modify the bass drum legs so that the top of the drum can be an inch or two off the bottom and the drum is sleeping at a small angle. This shifts more of the weight onto the feet themselves and helps the spikes dig in more effectively, which should put a finish to the majority of bass drum creep problems.

Sometimes, especially for those people kicking the drum fairly hard in situations, establishing on a rug is just not enough!

Listed here is an additional little trick which will END bass drum creep problems.

Take a three foot long 2x4 piece of wood. I have some wonderful cloth fixed around it to make it look quite, offer some protection to the drums, and avoid splinters. Now draw your carpet where you would like the front of your bass drum to sit. Punch three quarter inch diameter holes through the wood one gap in the centre and one near each end.

Using some great, big, 1/4 inch thick and 2 inch cleaners bolts actually bolt the wood to your rug in front edge of your bass drum. Make sure to put the part of the bolt on the under side of the carpet so that your carpet however sits very flat. So that it does not scratch up any wonderful wooden floors that happen to be within the rug I also prefer to put a or two of gaffers record over the end of the bolt.

Now when you set up just slide the leading of the bass drum right up against the piece of wood you have bolted to the carpet, and it'll maybe not slide any more!

It works best if you receive the wood wide enough that the feet themselves really boost against the wood block while it will continue to work fine with the rim of the drum against the wood block - only make sure to include the wood with foam or thick cloth to avoid the wood from harming the rim and lugs of one's drum!

Allow me to understand how well it works for you. window cleaning london
