The Garden Route is one of many most beautiful stretches of coast in South Africa. A paradise located involving the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains, and the Indian Ocean, it is a location of outstanding natural splendor. With lush green forests and sandy beaches its easy to see why some call it the Garden of Eden.

The Garden Route is really a very safe self-drive destination which starts from the Mossel Bay area and finishes at Storms River in the Tsitsikamma National Park. For a change that would be preferred by those from operating, there is the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe. The Outeniqua Choo Tjoe may be the last remaining individual steam train in South Africa, and works between Mossel Bay and George.

Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn is surrounded by the Outeniqua Mountains to the south and the Swartberg Mountains to the north, and located in the centre of the Klein Karoo plains. Oudtshoorn is recognized as the cash, with substantial numbers of the birds in the area. Four farms provide daily tours: Highgate, Safari, Oudtshoorn and Congo. The Cango Caves are one of the most spectacular sights in your community. The Cango Caves are 3 limestone caverns addressing a fantastic distance, and filled with interesting stalactites, stalagmites and helictites. It forms the main worlds largest wine path, and is also a fantastic wine producing area!

Knysna

The city of Knysna can be found between abundant native forests and the peaceful shores of the Knysna lagoon, and has a few of the most remarkable landscape in Africa. The scenery can be enjoyed by you in close proximity by riding on horse back, or cycling through the forests. There's an abundance of activities to do whilst you are there, from traveling out to the Knysna minds, or playing a of golf down by the estuary, along with the impressive landscape.

Plettenberg Bay

Plettenbery Bay is among the most beautiful resort areas in South Africa, with mile upon mile of white sandy beaches. The weather stays comfortable throughout every season, making it an excellent site to relax and unwind. The Plettenberg Bay is crawling with a myriad of marine life. Of particular note are the large schools of whales and sharks that are a typical site during breeding season. These may be observed on a single of the whale watching trips that are run from the bay.
