Because we are coping with CNC machines that do work for us, we have to get a grip on these CNC machines somehow. We must manage them for safety reasons as well. If you offer a device poor commands it may cause harm to you or the part and easily get free from control you're machining. We should give appropriate directions to our products, at appropriate times so they really aren't "out of control."

The language these machines use is called G-code. G-code has existed considering that the early 60's. There are several versions of G-code, but many are nearly the same as each other. Start to see the previous section for a sample of G-Code.

We will need to make use of a computer to consult with our CNC machine. Our computer will send signals to our CNC equipment. In-between our computer and our CNC device sits an operator. A control turns instructions in to signals which are used to manage the motion of our unit.

As these signals are delivered of the CNC controller, each goes to either stepper or servo motors. This is one way we create action. Our various axis is driven by these motors on our CNC equipment. While we are moving our axis, there's generally speaking a cutting tool of some sort removing material. This is actually the machining process in conjunction with CNC.

Generate torque at high RPMs

Usually need gearing of some kind to be effective

Can preserve their relative position, thus, they can be more precise

CNC Machine Controllers

Controllers generally stand alone close to the CNC machine. They behave as a translator between your control computer and your CNC equipment.
