Ah summer time in Galway, breathe it in, get a of that nation air, breathe the sweetness of it everywhere, get yourself a look at that clear blue sky. Summer times spent lying on the grass down at Spanish Arch, not a care in the entire world 

There are plenty of attractions to catch the eye in Ireland throughout the summer. August, July and july sees a bunch of music festivals including oxygen, electrical picnic and the midlands music celebration but its out west in Galway where in fact the greatest Irish summer festivals are happening. 

Things appear to go a bit rather towards the end of may and early June with many of the students leaving the area but its shortly before the city is buzzing again with the prospect of a great filled summer 

The Galway arts festival commences on the 17th of July. The event offers the most readily useful in music, theater and dance, visual art and comedy. Neighborhood cinema also plays an important part in the event offering wonderful activity for the summertime customers. The planners have gone all out in 2010 attracting a few of the best international and national acts including such homegrown expertise as Bell X1 and David Kitt and main stars such as Lambchop and David Gray. 

The biggest celebration in Galway must be the Galway races. The Races be more popular annually with record-breaking crowds thronging the town. There is scarcely an bed or empty club for that matter to be found in the town. Punters are attracted by the festival out of each and every walk of life. You will find big time gamblers willing to risk the clothing of these right back as well as the more relaxed gambler who is likely to stick a in the form guide and risk a dollar or two on the result. 

For those who just cant get enough gambling there's the choice of a trip to Salthill to try your luck in the casinos. The oyster festival, one for the food enthusiasts among you happens in September. This event has proved vastly popular over time bringing many new faces and strange features to the city. The pride of the Galway oyster festival could be the Indigenous oysters called Ostrea Edulis. Im told the oysters drop particularly well with a couple of pints of Guinness. Maybe not becoming an oyster eater myself I'll have to simply take their word because of it. 

Another treat for the artistically oriented group in Galway is the movie fleadh. This function offers local filmmakers a great opportunity to display their talents. The event also attracts many international filmmakers as well as their famous leading men and women. Before such luminaries as Jim Sheridan, Woody Harrelson, Sir Richard Attenborough and Michael Moore have attended the festival
