Spring-cleaning: for some an undertaking for others a pleasure. I learned all about this routine at an early on age. Now, the idea of spring-cleaning evokes precious memories. 

When I was a young child, back in the land of four seasons and none of them rain (Manitoba), the cool inhibiting days of cold temperatures were brought out with a yearly farm ritual: spring-cleaning. Number corner of our home was left untouched by dusters, brooms, scrub brushes, towels and other cleaning guns. Every inch of closet was emptied, selections were taken, value was considered, surfaces were washed and cleaned, and then those outfits that were still 'good' were arranged in a useful and efficient way. Bedrooms were moved, desks emptied, roofs dusted. 

My memory of preference could be the window washing. After windowpanes were removed for cleansing, the windowsill became a location of pure inspiration! I will simply recall those moments: sitting on my ideal perch, watching the ice separation in the creek behind our home. Big items floated by, breaking fully, twisting, crunching, piling up in a chaotic proclamation of the new season's arrival. Oxygen was in abundance; pussy willows to the left, chicken feeders with chirping chickadees to the proper. It had been heavenly! 

It had been that form of day where I learned that effort takes care of. At that early age, I thought the change of energy in my home and in myself after having a time of complete de-cluttering and washing. Your house felt brighter, better, more happy. I felt like skipping. 

The most effective part of de-cluttering and planning for me today is reading my consumers illustrate related feelings of lightness and freedom after having a program together. Whether in their house or office, de-cluttering can be a passing of the old, the take up a whole new season in life.
